Academic Assistant
As Academic Assistant, Tim is involved in developing the academic and administrative infrastructure of the School. He also contributes to course development, lecturing and tutoring, particularly in the area of Philosophy.
Tim obtained his first degree in chemistry from Oxford University, where he was also an organ scholar, before turning to philosophy and theology, gaining a degree in theology from the University of Durham. After spending some time working with people with learning disabilities, he gained a PGCE from Lancaster University, and worked as a teacher and examiner in the field of religious education for several years. During this time, he also studied for a doctorate in philosophy from Liverpool Hope University.
Tim is particularly interested in how philosophy is applied in the areas of science, religion and education; he is also interested in sacred music.
