The Bursary Committee meets five times per year, and will meet to consider applications on the following dates in 2016:

 11th May 2016

18th July 2016

5th August 2016

5th September 2016

19th September 2016

Please ensure that your application is received in time to be considered on one of those dates.

Applicants will be notified of the decision of the Committee shortly after the meeting has taken place.

Prospective applicants are advised to read the notes below concerning eligibility before making an application.

 Notes on eligibility

  • Bursaries will be awarded to individuals who otherwise would not be able to afford the course fees.
  • Before applying for a bursary, individuals should have sought funding from other sources. In particular, they should have approached their Parish Priest or the Administrator of their parish.
  • Receipt of any bursary money implies that recipients will participate fully in the residential weeks, self-study activities and associated activities of the course.  For the diploma, award of a bursary for the second year is dependent on the successful and full completion of the first year.
  • We rely on the integrity of the individual asking for financial assistance.  Should an individual’s financial circumstances change, meaning that the bursary amount is no longer required, this should be declared to the school so that the bursary funding to them can be adjusted accordingly.
  • Due to the very limited amount of funds available, no support can be given towards maintenance costs, just help towards fees.
  • Bursary applications need to be submitted together with a course application form or after applying for a course. Bursary applications will not be considered unless a course application has been received.

The Gabriel and Ariel Bursary Fund

This bursary fund has been established by two friends of the School of the Annunciation in memory of two much loved children, Gabriel and Ariel, who died before birth. The purpose of the fund is to assist students to study at the School of the Annunciation, towards which it offers half fees for any of the summer schools or courses.  Preference is given to under 30s and to Catholic Clergy.  The general conditions  for bursaries apply to this fund and the general application form is to be used.
