Dear friends,
I would like to warmly invite you to join the Guild of Our Lady and St. Joseph (‘the Guild’).The Guild is a separate entity to the School of the Annunciation with its own governance, constitution and executive, yet it is very closely affiliated with the School of the Annunciation.
The Guild of Our Lady and Saint Joseph supports the mission of the Holy Catholic Church in her work of The New Evangelisation through prayer and most specifically through its support of the work of the School of the Annunciation. Formally constituted on the Feast of the Annunciation on March 25th 2014, the Guild of Our Lady and St Joseph fulfils its aims through broadening friendship, understanding and communication amongst students, staff, alumni and supporters of the School of the Annunciation.
The Guild offers its members opportunities:
- for faith formation through Guild events (at member rates);
- to explore the connections between faith and culture (the New Evangelisation);
- to acquire skills to transmit the faith within families, parishes, communities and beyond;
- to form friendships that foster a sense of community amongst similarly like-minded individuals throughout the UK and beyond. These friendships may develop through area events or via social media (i.e. the School and Guild Facebook Groups or Twitter);
- to access the sacred art studies on the SoTA website;
- to participate in a virtual book club;
- and to purchase a subscription to the Catechetical Review at a discounted rate. catechetics.com
To date, we have had several very successful “Guild Days”, for example, in London and York. Speakers included, amongst others, Bishop Philip Egan, Fr. Alexander Sherbrooke, Fr. Dominic Allain, Fr. Anthony Doe, Dr. Peter Kahn and Dr. Caroline Farey.
If Guild members so wish, they may become local contacts for both enrolled and prospective SoTA students. Suggestions as to how we can promote the School in your area are most welcome.
Annual subscriptions are only £20 and upon receipt of your membership application and payment, we will send you a Guild Directory and a beautiful SoTA pin, depicting the angel proclaiming the Good News. For your convenience, the completed membership form can be emailed to the Guild email address below and funds sent to us electronically. Click here for an enrolment form.
Alternatively, you can fill out an online form by clicking here.
Please note that the Guild and the School of the Annunciation are different organisations and consequently have separate bank accounts. Applications and annual subscriptions for the Guild and for the Catechetical Review journal are to be sent to the Guild of Our Lady and St Joseph. Donations to the School of the Annunciation and payments for visits are to be paid to the School of the Annunciation. This can be done on the ‘Make a donation’ page of this website, or by cheque addressed to The School of the Annunciation.
The next Guild Day will take place on the 19th of September 2016 at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, Soho Square, W1D4NR. It is titled, "Evangelisaton: How to Begin!"
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at guildofourladyandstjoseph@gmail.com.
I very much look forward to meeting you at a Guild event before too long.
God bless,
