Fr Guy de Gaynesford, MA, BTh, STL
Rector

With responsibility for overall governance with special responsibility for the spiritual welfare of the School.

Educated at Ampleforth College, Fr Guy read History at Oxford University before entering St John’s Seminary, Wonersh, to study for the priesthood. Ordained in 1996 Fr Guy served in a number of parishes before commencing his studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome, receiving his  Licentiate in Dogmatic Theology in 2012. On returning home he was parish priest at Sacred Heart & St Teresa of the Child Jesus, Paignton until his appointment as Rector of the School of the Annunciation.

Dr Andrew Beards BA, MA, PhL, PhD (Calgary), PhD (Lateran)
Academic Director

With responsibility for academic governance and special responsibility for Theology and Philosophy.

As Academic Director Andrew has responsibility for the overall direction of the School, its organisation, quality and standards. He also has co-responsibility for the development and enhancement of existing and new programmes and with particular oversight of the theological and philosophical components of the programmes.

Director of Studies

With overall responsibility for student learning and special responsibility for Catechesis.

As Director of Studies, Caroline has responsibility for the quality of provision for student learning and support, and for the training of tutors and markers. She is also co-responsible for the development  and enhancement of existing and  new programmes, and with particular oversight of the pedagogical and catechetical components of the programmes.

Dr Timothy Walker

As Academic Assistant, Tim is involved in developing the academic and administrative infrastructure of the School. He also contributes to course development, lecturing and tutoring, particularly in the area of Philosophy.

Dr Denise Clare Oliver, STB; MA; STL; STD

Senior Faculty/Administrator

Dr Denise Clare Oliver completed her studies in Philosophy and Theology at the Pontifical University of St Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome, where she received a Masters of Arts in Theology with a specialisation in Thomistic studies, and a Licentiate in Sacred Theology with a specialisation in Spiritual Theology. She earned her Doctorate in Sacred Theology in 2013 – her dissertation is entitled The Gift of Wisdom According to St Thomas Aquinas Shown in the Life of St Thérèse of Lisieux: God’s Little Martyr of Love.

Mr Brian Roxburgh, BA, MA
Course Manager

As Course Manager for the One-Year Courses, Brian is responsible for the administration of our short programs. He also oversees the development of the Latin course. Brian has degrees from Thomas Aquinas College, California, and the University of Dallas, where he is a doctoral student in political philosophy.

Office Manager

As Office Manager Sr Crucis has responsibility for enquiries, bookings, reception, general office duties, and all information and arrangements for Guild members supporting the mission of the Church and the School of the Annunciation.

Mrs Amette Ley BA, MA, STL.

Tutor

Amette is part of the team that wrote materials for The Diploma in the New Evangelisation and is one of the tutors for this Course. She is married, with four children and four grandchildren, and lives on the South Coast.

Dom Benet Watt BA, MTh.

Dom Benet is a Benedictine monk with degrees from the universities of 
London and Cardiff. His principal interests are in Patristics and the history of
Europe in Late Antiquity.

Carol Ann Harnett  BEd, MA

Tutor

Carol's first career was primary school teacher but with the arrival of her children, she turned her attention to parish catechesis. Carol has nearly 30 years experience in all aspects of parish catechesis. Carol has also worked in a number of schools and universities as well as in the voluntary sector, and spent much time teaching and forming catechists.

Carol delivers talks on catechesis as an independent conference speaker and her passion is helping others understand and learn to pass on the Catholic faith. Carol has written articles for the international catechetical journal 'The Sower' as well as faith based reflections for her local secular paper.

Christina Pal, B.S., S.T.B., M.A., S.T.L.

Tutor

Christina Pal is a consecrated virgin. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome, Italy. Christina was raised in a non-practicing Hindu household. Prior to her conversion, she studied physiology at the University of Southern California, earning a Bachelor of Science degree.

As Reader in the New Evangelisation, Petroc works to develop the research and publications dimensions of the School's work. Petroc also assists in teaching and curriculum development in the area of New Evangelisation.
